What I love about photography is that you don't have to necessarily go anywhere to get a great picture. I took these of my son the other day in our hotel room with our curtains and a little window light. I love the low light look and he is a great candidate with his dark features.
He is so handsome and I'm glad to call him mine...even though he acts a little wild at times I can't help but love him. He is my buddy, and it makes me so sad to see him all grown up...where has the time gone?
I'm trying to figure out myself as a photographer and this is the direction I'm going.... hope you like them.

I left my heart in Paris

This past October my husband surprised me with a 2 week trip to Europe. His wonderful mom watched our kids while we bagpacked in Paris, Greece, Rome, and Spain. We had a blast! We met up with Brandon's sister Dantzelle and her husband Adam and it was fun to go with friends! I loved everything about Paris. It was beautiful I mean like everything is beautiful...even apartments and roads and trees. I loved Paris and quite frankly I think I left part of my heart there.....

We sat many a times "people watching" while eating our fries and drinking our cokes. Meal times were no rush and it would literally take us an hour to and hour and a half just to sit and eat lunch since they believe in slowing things down and just "people watching."

I love Landscape and Nature Photography. I've told my husband my dream is to make money traveling the world and photographing places and people candidly; like a national geographic photographer. I love family and people photography as well, but for a change I love taking beautiful nature pictures. I still have a whole post on my trip to Europe just been hard finding time to edit about 3,000 pictures but I am about 3/4 the way done so it will most likely be soon. An East Coast Spring is nothing short of amazing. There are trees everywhere with the richest, prettiest colors of blossoms you have ever seen. They only last about 2 weeks before they fall off so when I see a tree that I want to photograph I often get very distracted while driving until I can pull over and I have gotten many a weird looks! I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I have!

These brave guys are the managers of a summer sales office for APX Alarm. This year we went to Pittsburgh, PA and killed it! The rest of the pictures are of the whole group (well most of them some had already left because of school). These guys are awesome! They brave the heat, rain, humidity, and all other types of crazy weather. They brave the people who are just outright mean to them and they don't let it phase them as they go tear it up each and every day! Man I have a lot of respect for these guys! Thanks for a great summer! It was so hazy the day of these pictures you could almost see it in the pictures that is how hazy it was. Kind of hard lighting to take pictures in but we managed to get some good ones!

The best part about my husband's job is that we get to go to some amazing places. This year we are about 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and it is a beautiful city. There are some really neat places in the city it is so full of character. We also had the opportunity to go to a lake with some friends and captured the butterflies. Then there is this really beautiful church right by our house with an amazing old cemetary. One our way home from a girls trip to Palmyra we stopped at Niagara Falls and it was beautiful! What a handsome stud! Just like with any 2 year old we had quite the time just trying to get him to sit still so we could take some pictures! I actually love just following kids around and trying to catch them being happy doing what they do! I don't like studios for that reason! I love just getting to play and take pictures at the same time!

I love catching people truly happy in pictures. It makes all the time editing worth it. What a gorgeous mom, and you can tell that she is truly happy being just that... a mom!

My new Lens!

So today I got my new lens! It is a 50 mm f/1.8 lens. It takes amazing pictures!!!! I LOVE IT! I took these literally in 2 seconds outside my door in front of the yucky siding and they turned out great so you can tell that this new lens does wonders even in the worst of situations! I can't wait to go practice some more!

Carnival Time!

Here in Pittsburgh they had a carnival outside the mall so Jess, me and Aubree decided to go and let the kids have some fun! They got to ride the merry-go-round, the cars, and the airplanes. Braxton got to play a game where you fish for a duck and you get a prize. He choose the Spongebob hammer. Kinley didn't get to do much besides the merry-go-round. She did get to enjoy some of our snacks though! All in all we had a fun time! and I loved to take pictures! My Education

I like some did not go to school for photography. I actually went to school to be an elementary teacher which someday I hope to do. I just like some fell in love with photography and I love to edit! Photoshop is my best friend. Since the love originally began I bought a Nikon D90 and Photoshop CS4. I have all the actions from Totally Rad, 2 sets of textures from Florabella, 2 sets of actions (vintage and black and white) from Florabella, and 2 sets of actions from MCP {The Complete Workflow, Magic Skin Retouching, and The finish It actions}. I have gotten several photoshop and camera tutorials from friends and family (Dantzelle and Kash and others...) who are excellent photographers themselves. I spend hours looking at blogs I am obsessed what can I say. I love to learn new tricks and easier ways to edit. I am in the processing of reading Nikon D90 for dummies, which has been VERY informative, my last photoshoot which I just posted was all taken in RAW format, in Manual and Aperture modes, and I didn't have to ever fix the lighting...that is how much I have learned! I used to spend hours fixing lighting in RAW but I have now figured it out! I still want to buy an external flash and the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens. Luckily I have a husband who supports my hobby and is so nice to me and lets me buy whatever I need to be successful.
Why am I telling you this?

I just started reading a 2 week tutorial on how to be a professional photographer and the first lesson was on getting educated, so I just wanted to let you know what I have been doing to get "educated." Yes I still have a lot to learn but it is part of the fun, seeing yourself improve and blossom is such a rewarding feeling. Sorry for this lame post but it is a good reminder for me to remember where I was at this point.

She was one of my best friends in high school so it was so fun to catch up and see her adorable family! Oh and can I say it was heaven to hold her little baby girl and she was so good! And her son was such a good 2 year old, he would sit and smile for every picture I was impressed!
